Week of March 9 - 13

Hello Parents,
This weekend was full of events that showcased the talents talents that God has gifted our students’ with.  Friday evening was awards night for basketball season.  While we were waiting for the participants to arrive, my husband played the slide show from the 2005 basketball season.  It is amazing how far our sports teams have come!  We owe that to the many dedicated parents that not only keep out sports program running but to those who help to build it to be better each year.
Saturday evening we enjoyed the 2nd annual Student Council Talent Show.  It is always a joy for me to see students push beyond their comfort zones and do something that they did not think they could do.
Events such as these make the difference between ACS just being a school and being a family.  It is during events like these that parents get to sit together, have coffee and visit with another parent they may not know.  The kids also enjoy the opportunity to see their friends outside of the classroom.
This Saturday, ACS is hosting a special social for Elementary students (grades K – 5) and their parents.  I encourage you not to miss this evening.  I have been promised that their will be fun for everyone.  This also gives elementary parents a chance to get to know other parents you may not have met.
What makes a school a family?  It is the closeness of the families involved.

Yours In Christ,
Pamela Young
